If you are looking for a way to share your time, skills and interest with other members of this community, volunteering may be just what you need!  Many agencies and organizations rely on volunteers to help provide services to people in this community.  Here are just a few opportunities that may be of interest to you. 

Volunteers are always welcome at one of our local hospitals.  Teens over age 14 and adults are encouraged to apply.  Contact

  • Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital Volunteer Services at (304) 424-2345, or

  • St. Joseph’s Volunteer Services at (304) 424-4248.  

The Good Samaritan Clinic is in need of clerical assistance.  Call (304) 422-7375 for more information.

The WVU-P Foundation is seeking volunteers to assist with light office work, such as copying and answering telephones.  If interested, please call Jenny Keup at (304) 424-8341.

The Parkersburg YMCA is seeking volunteers to assist with general desk service.  Contact Patrick McHugh at (304) 485-5585, Extension 118.  

Wyngate Senior Living Community is seeking persons with an interest or experience in woodworking to assist residents with arts and crafts projects.  Call Missi Stanley at (304) 428-2004 for additional information. 

The Save-A-Kitty Feral Cat Program desperately needs volunteers to assist in trapping, feeding and caring for stray cats.  Contact Kandi Habeb by e-mail at kandihabeb@suddenlink.net for additional information.

Parrotdise Bird Rescue of Mineral Wells is an organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of exotic birds.  Volunteers are needed and welcomed to help feed, clean, and care for the birds and to spend quality time with them.  Contact Angela Frazier at (304) 489-9442 for additional information.
