Volunteers will be matched
with applicants according to needs and skills. Special requests will
require additional time.
Time and frequency of service will be determined by the volunteer and the
care receiver. This usually will not exceed 1 - 2 contacts per week.
Volunteer caregivers are trained to respect the privacy of care receivers and
are required to maintain confidentiality of information obtained during
volunteer service. The volunteer assigned to a care receiver will receive
a copy of that care receiver's Application for FaithLink services.
Home telephone numbers of volunteers will not be given to care receivers and
should not be requested.
For the safety of care receivers, volunteers will be provided with a
FaithLink identification badge. Care receivers should ask to see this if
ever in doubt of a volunteer's identity.
Volunteers who provide transportation must be at least 18 years of age and
have a valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance. Seat
belts must be worn by the driver and passengers at all times
FaithLink volunteers cannot provide personal care such as feeding, bathing,
etc, administer medications or hep with major long-term projects and home
repairs. |
