Child Care Food Program

 

 

Family day care providers that participate receive funding for nutritious, well balanced meals and snacks served to eligible children.

The nutrition program offers you partial reimbursement for the food you serve your child care children, plus much more.

All at NO COST to you and TAX FREE

As long as you are providing child care in your home and feeding those children, then you are eligible for the program, regardless if you are private or state-funded.

The Child Care Food Program is a nationally funded program, sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered by the WV Department of Education.  It is consistent with the objective that no person in the US shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, or handicapping conditions, be excluded from participation or be denied the benefits of or be discriminated against, under any program or activity of the recipient to which assistance is provided by the USDA.

CCFP serves WV counties: Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wirt, and Wood

Guidelines:
 -  You must be 18 years of age and healthy
-  Meet the standards established by the DHHR in your area and the Child Care Food Program
-  Plan, prepare, and serve meals and snacks that meet USDA guidelines.
-  Keep written menus of meals and snacks
-  Keep written attendance records and daily meal meal count records

Eligible Children:
For children from infancy to 13 years of age
You can claim 2 meals and 1 snack, or 2 snacks & 1 meal per child per day
Claim your own child if you qualify

DHHR License:
To participate in this program, you must have some form of license obtained from your local DHHR. Find a program that works for you:
- facility day care (12 children)
- home day care (6 children)
- informal day care (3 children) self-certify
- relative only care (6 children) self-certify
