Mission: To mobilize people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of our nation's youth by fulfilling five promises. The five promises: Caring adults, Safe places, Healthy start, Marketable skills, Opportunities to serve. The Wood County Family Resource Network is a source of information about the extent to which Wood County organizations and agencies provide the five America's Promise Resources to children. They have statistical information regarding the number of children served, the number of volunteers working with children and the programs which serve children in the Wood County area. In particular, the FRN has current statistical information about those organizations who have provided mentoring, safe places for youth, health initiatives for youth, effective, marketable educational programming for youth and service opportunities for youth. The FRN is also a key player in delivery of the five resources in Wood County. The Volunteer Action Center is a source of information about the volunteer opportunities available to residents of the Wood County area which support youth programming. The Volunteer Action Center does volunteer recruitment, volunteer placement, and volunteer management assistance for youth programming in the Wood County area.
