Program/Service Notes:
We create employment opportunities for individuals who are or who may be mentally and/or physically impaired. The work adjustment Level II program prepares the participant for job readiness. Instruction periods teach job seeking skills. Work experience at the center conditions the individual to take his/her place in the competitive work place. The Supported Employment service provides competitive placement opportunities for individuals who are the most severely disabled. The individual often needs a network of support services to help retain employment and to become independent of others. JCDC offers long term support for these individuals. The Extended Employment program covers persons who require long term extended training. DRS recognizes the value of this service and pay a fee for long term training. The Regular Work program is designed to refine working habits and skills as a final step to competitive employment in the community. JCDC actively pursues contract work with vocational emphasis for training and employment at the center. Our mission is to provide quality work adjustment, job skills training, and appropriate employment for persons with disabilities.
