This society promotes the objectives of the national society which are: Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education, and Patriotic Endeavors. The Blennerhassett Chapter works with schools on the southside of Parkersburg including, MineralWells. The James Wood Chapter works with schools on the northside of Parkersburg, including Vienna and Williamstown. These two chapters in the Parkersburg area adhere to this division in regards to working with schools, but, in other matters, they are not so divided.
