Identification of children who may be eligible for this valuable program. Families who believe they may qualify should contact agency. This is not public assistance and can help those families that are below the federal guidelines for poverty level but are not eligible for Medicaid. Eligibility is based on age, income and lack of insurance. Eligible are those children from birth through 18 yrs. who do not have health insurance and are in families who have monthly net income at or below the following income and family size: 2, $1,935; 3, $2,942; 5, $3,445; 6, $3949; 7, $4,452.. Families can own a home or car. Net income, used to determine eligibility, is the amount after a standard $90 deduction and appropriate child care deductions are given. Families close to the guidelines should also apply. It must first be determined if the child is eligible for Medicaid.
