Checkups include a vision, hearing, and dental screen, complete physical examination, immunizations, a check of growth and development, laboratory tests and treatment of any health problems found. Flouride testing, health education, nutrition education and food supplement coupons-children from birth to 5 years. WIC services available.
For adults: AIDS and HIV testing and counseling; blood pressure screening; communicable disease control; health education; flu shots; nutrition education and food supplement coupons-for pregnant, postpartum and breast feeding women{WIC}; sexually transmitted disease diagnosis, screening and treatment; tuberculosis screening.
Community Health Services; community health promotion groups; health education lectures; and tobacco use prevention, education and stop smoking referrals.
Environmental Health services: Contact Pat Fulmer, Sanitarian, Tues and/or Fri. from 8:00A.M-4:00P.M. Assist public in resolving environmental health concerns and problems; clean indoor air regulation-education and enforcement; food monitoring and regulation of grocery stores, restaurants, and similar food establishments; foodborne disease investigations; lead screening; monitoring and sampling of private and public water supplies; rabies control and investigations; radon testing; regulation and evaluation of housing and institution services; regulation and evaluation of public recreational facilities; and sewage system assessment, design assistance, evaluation, monitoring and regulation.
Many services are funded by Medicare, Medicaid or agencies such as PEIA and the WVDHH services. The sliding fee scale, based on Federal Poverty Guidelines, is used to calculate the portion of payment for which a client is responsible. MOVHD will accept other third party payment.
Appointments are required for most clinical services. Please call your county site to make an appointment or check on cliniic hours.
