Critical Incident Stress Management system, addresses the concerns of emergency workers and also offers something to other groups and organizations. St. Joseph's CISM Team has offered intervention services to its 12 county service area since 1995. CISM services offered are: 1. Pre-crisis services, including a comprehensive education program. 2. One-on-one support throughout the full range of a crisis. 3. Family support for families of emergency services workers. 4. Disaster support, including on-site support, demobilization, command staff advisement and support programs. 5. On-site support, including short small-group interventions for assessment, education and acute symptom reduction. 6. Critical Incident Stress Debriefing: a structured, confidential, group-crisis intervention process designed to ease symptoms of critical stress, assess the need for follow-up and, if possible, provide a sense of post-crisis closure. 7. Follow-up services for emergency services personnel, health care professionals, educators, students and industrial workers. Also includes courses and workshops related to stress management and crisis intervention.
