PURPOSE: Grant Funding
The Community support Grants Program has been established to continue the Sisters of Saint Joseph's tradition in healthcare ministry by providing financial assistance to tax-exempt organizations or public agencies within an 11 county region. Grants will be awarded in three principle areas:
HEALTHY SENIOR CITIZENS; the fund will focus its grants on programs that enhance the quality of life for active senior citizens by promoting: wellness and preventive healthcare; opportunities for full participation in community life; independent living; voluntary services to the community; and opportunities for growth through learning.
HEALTHY FAMILIES: The fund will focus its grants on programs that provide children and adolescents with effective, sustained, and caring adult relationships. The goal being to encourage responsible behavior and positive self-identity. Grants will be considered for parenting, mentoring, family-centered counseling, or programs that address conditions and circumstances which impede an effective adult-child relationship--violence , abuse, neglect.
HEALTHY COMMUNITIES: The fund is interested in promoting community health through a process that involves broad-based planning, goal identification, and realistic implementation of measurable outcomes. The fund will focus its grants on local efforts to promote wellness and preventive care, improved environmental conditions, and broader access to primary care.
