AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full-time for one year, to fight poverty in low-income neighborhoods. VISTA'S has over a 30 year track record of helping people overcome poverty nationwide by training literacy tutors, organizing economic development projects, conducting health education outreach, mobilizing housing resources and much more. VISTA members must be US citizens, a minimum age of 18, and willing to commit to one year of full-time service. There is no upper age limit. A college degree is preferred but is not required. You have the choice of an education award or stipend at the end of your first year of service.
