The O'Neill Senior Center, Inc., provides many services and activities to the seniors of Washington County, Ohio. There are three separate companies within our building: 1) The O'Neill Center, 2) The R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), which is under the direction of the Washington County commissioners , and 3) The Marietta Nutrition Site.
SERVICES:
MEDICARE PAPERWORK ASSISTANCE - The O'Neill Senior Center has OS.H.I.I.P. aids who are trained to assist you in answering question and helping to solve your problems regarding Medicare. This service is available every 2nd and 4th Monday afternoon and is "By Appointment Only". donations are very much appreciated.
BLOOD PRESSURE TESTING - Available on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 10Am - Noon. Provided by R.S.V.P. nurse volunteers. No appointment is necessary.
BLOOD SUGAR SCREENING - Available on the lst Monday of each month from 8:30 am - 10:30 am (Fee: $2.00 or Free for "On Board patrons). No appointment is necessary.
LEGAL SERVICES - Applications may be picked up at any time. Forms for Wills can be picked up at the Reception desk.
INCOME TAX ASSIST - The local American Association of Retired Persons tax consultants, will be available to assist persons in completing their tax return each Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm to 3:30 pm beginning the 1st February and ending by April 15th. No appointment is necessary.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS - Designed for the senior population.
TRIPS - SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES - Check newsletter for up to date schedules.
ACTIVITIES:
BILLIARDS- All day Monday thru Friday in the lower level "pool room."
BINGO-Senior Bingo Thursdays 10 am to 11:30 am.
PUBLIC BINGO- Public Bingo is played every Tuesday afternoon from 7 pm to 10 pm.
BRIDGE-Bridge is played every Tuesday afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm.
DONUT MAKE U WONDER- is a discussion group that meets Wednesday at 9 am , donuts are provided by the Marietta Center.
R.S.V.P. CRAFTS- meet every Tuesday from 9 am to 11:30 am in the multi purpose room.
EUCHRE- is played every other Tuesday evening 7 pm to 10 pm and is sponsored by the Marietta Senior Citizens Club.
SOCIAL LINE DANCING -is for anyone who has had previous experience in line dancing.
MARIETTA SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB- This social club meets the second Wednesday of every month for a pot luck luncheon from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
SENIOR SINGERS- meet at the O'Neill Senior Center every , except pot luck day, at 1 pm.
SENIORCIZE- exercise class meets every Monday, Wednesday, andFriday from 11:15 am - 11:45 am except the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
STRETCH & TONE- meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:45 am -12:15pm except the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Bring a floor mat and join in!
TAI CHI,- and ancient Chinese form of exercise, useful in easing the pain of arthritis, meets every Monday from 10 am to 11 am.
Evening Activities: LINE DANCING--Meets on Monday evening from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. TAI CHI from 6:45pm to 7:45 pm These classes are offered on Monday evenings in cooperation with 55+.
