Our vision statement was developed by the administration, Faculty Senate, Curriculum Team and Local School Improvement Council: at Wirt County high school, we envision the environment as student-centered, emphasizing the philosophy that "all children can learn." All students will achieve their full potential through a progressive education that stresses advanced technology, critical thinking, and healthy living with high regard for the arts. Our focus will be to provide and equip students for their future role in the workplace of higher education. The Mission of Wirt County High School is to enable all students to learn to their highest potential.
The Wirt County Board of Education believes in the concept of equal educational opportunity for all students enrolled in the public schools of the county. No student is to be denied equal opportunity for participation in any program of the public schools of the county on the basis of race, sex, color, creed, national origin, religion, handicapping condition, marital status, parenthood, or pregnancy.
WCHS is a drug-free school; a fall-out shelter; provides tutoring, college classes for Seniors preferably and for Juniors and adults if space is available, computer classes to the public upon demand; and accepts transferees from other counties upon recommendation of the principal and Board of Education.
