WVATS is funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education to increase awareness of and accessibility to assistive technology. All fifty states receive this funding, which provides individuals with disabilities the tools to become more independent at home, school and work. These devices can be as complex as specially adapted computers or as simple as Velcro closures. Our services help people learn how to choose and use assistive devices. This is a part of assistive technology.
